YGA II International: Esther de Graaf in Los Angeles

The YGA II trajectory gives the artists the opportunity to make a short (inter)national exchange or working trip for research and exploration. As part of her process Esther went to Los Angeles to research, to make work and to increase her network.

Exhibition in the Los Angeles Museum of Art by Esther de Graaf will be on view from February 23 until April 6, 2014.

The 3D reconstruction of the Norwegian island Utøya is made by the analysis of arial photo's of the island.

The YGA II trajectory gives the artists the opportunity to make a short (inter)national exchange or working trip for research and exploration. As part of his project Adri is going to the Island Utøya for inspiration, investigation of the environment and helping to develop his work.

Young Grunn Artist II (YGA II)

YGA II is the one-year development program for young talented artists of Groningen and is a collaboration of NP3 and the Groninger Museum.

The Young Grunn Artist II trajectory is an extension to the current work practice of the artist. In addition NP3 and the Groninger Museum offer over the course of one year all the necessary support on content, business and promotion to professionalize. They will provide the YGA artists tools to obtain the personal artistic aims and the opportunity to gain the necessary connection to the (inter)national art world.

Next to individual coaching, the artists will receive a personal work and development budget which gives them the possibility to create new work or hire expertise; to network with art professionals, take part in a short international exchange program, or make a short working trip to an artistic and cultural metropolis.

At the end of YGA II trajectory the curators of NP3 and Groninger Museum decide which artist convinced the most and gets the opportunity to an exhibition at the Groninger Museum.

From over 40 submissions three artists were selected for the YGA II trajectory:
