Adri Schokker at IslandCQ

IslandCQ is a 10-day, location based, international art, media, and technology exchange project that facilitates workshops, lectures, exhibitions, concerts, and performances, developed and organised by students from the various partner universities from Finland, Latvia, Hungary, Belgium, and the Netherlands. IslandCQ is initiated by Minerva Academy of Popculture and developed as an Intensive program partly financed by Erasmus, and consisted of 3 editions organised in 3 different countries between 2010 and 2013. 

Adris task was to develop the concepts and the main program.

The last edition of IslandCQ in May 2013 in the old Monotori Fortress in Hungary Komárom close to the Hungarian and Slovakian border had the theme ‘Crisis! -RE/Constructing Europe’.

Groninger Museum and NP3 announce the final selection of YGA II

Out of the forty submissions a first selection of seven artists is made: Rob Bouwman, Esther de Graaf, Pascal van der Graaf, Lambert Kamps, Adri Schokker, Berndnaut Smilde and Lena van der Wal.
The curators made a deliberate choice based on documentation, motivation, a individual talk and the extent to which they can contribute to the development of the seven artists.

The three YGA II artists are announced on Wednesday April 10:

Jong Jury Prijs YGA II selection

Prior to the announcement of the final selection, the Jong Jury Prijs YGA II is handed out. More than 150 scholars from the Wessel Gansfortcollege followed the steps as curators. Based on the handed documentation they picked their three favorite artists, which according to them, deserve the YGA II trajectory.

The students have chosen their three favorite artists:

Berndnaut Smilde 
Lena van der Wal

Jong Jury Prijs YGA II

As with the previous edition of YGA the scholars of the Wessel Gansfortcollege are invited to make their selection of the three artist. Based on the work and motivation of the seven artists 175 scholars choose their three artists in the coming period.

First selection

The curators of the Groninger Museum and NP3 have carefully regarded and dicussed the large amount of submissions. A first selection is made!

The following 7 artists, in alphabetical order, were selected:

Pascal van der Graaf 
Lambert Kamps 
Adri Schokker 
Berndnaut Smilde 
Lena van der Wal 

To make a deliberate choice the curatiors will meet the seven artists individually to select the three artists for the YGA trajectory.
